Baseball Recap: Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wins Going Away Against Gar-Field

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop O'Connell, Saint John Paul the Great Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Gar-Field Red Wolves as the Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wolves made off with a 21-1 win. With that victory, the Wolves brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

Jack Kennedy looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Liam Kennedy was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Charlie Skala, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Saint John Paul the Great Catholic picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saint John Paul the Great Catholic will take on Fairfax HomeSchool at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfax HomeSchool will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Saint John Paul the Great Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gar-Field, they will challenge North Stafford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
