Softball Recap: Dublin Gaels vs. Granada Matadors

Dublin had lost six straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-14 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Granada Matadors by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Gaels have suffered against the Matadors since May 6, 2021.

Dublin got a massive performance out of Gabby Freyler, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Cat Ramirez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

As for Granada, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.

On Granada's side, the team relied heavily on Delaney Aumua, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Alicia Mitre also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
