Volleyball Recap: Crestview's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After flying high against Upper Sandusky on Saturday, Crestview came back down to earth. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monroeville Eagles on Tuesday. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Crestview started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-18, 26-24, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Crestview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emma Horner had 13 digs. Horner is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Addison Homan went supernova For Monroeville., getting 36 digs and two assists. Gabby Loose also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Crestview's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Monroeville, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Crestview is set to face off against their familiar foe New London at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Monroeville will challenge rival Western Reserve at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
