Basketball Recap: Frederick Beats Linganore for Their Third Straight Win

Frederick had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Linganore Lancers, sneaking past 57-55. This was a revenge game for the Cadets: when they faced off against the Lancers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 58-56 loss.

Linganore's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Hodgson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Hodgson has become a key player for Linganore: the team is undefeated when he posts at least ten boards, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Rosario, who posted eight points.

Frederick is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Linganore, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Frederick has already played their next game (against Governor Thomas Johnson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Linganore has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Oakdale.
