Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holly). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kearsley Hornets a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The Bronchos haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Alyssa Bowman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Bowman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Holly let Molly Charboneau (SVSU) and Jaelynn Mortinsen run wild. Charboneau (SVSU) went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Mortinsen went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Mortinsen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Elliot, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Holly always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Holly's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Kearsley, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
