Volleyball Recap: Byers Bulldogs vs. Stratton Eagles
Byers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Stratton Eagles, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
While Byers was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22, 25-13.
Karley Linnebur paced Byers' offense, picking up nine kills. Linnebur got some help from Zoie Murphy and her 11 assists. Leyla Sayler controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Byers' loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Stratton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Byers will be playing at home against Holyoke at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stratton, they will head out on the road to square off against Eads at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
