Battle Mountain is 8-2 against Pershing County since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Battle Mountain Longhorns will host the Pershing County Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Battle Mountain will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Battle Mountain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adan Nevarez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. Nevarez also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Battle Mountain is 7-1 when he posts at least five steals, but 3-4 otherwise. Geovanni Ruvalcaba was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Battle Mountain was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yerington only racked up six assists.

Meanwhile, Pershing County blew past Silver Stage, posting a 67-25 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Battle Mountain pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Pershing County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Battle Mountain didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Pershing County when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-50 win.
