After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pettisville, Holgate was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Montpelier Locomotives by a score of 3-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their five-match losing streak.

Holgate walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 17-25, 25-19, 25-13.

Holgate's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Montpelier, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Holgate and Montpelier could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Tigers will take on Miller City at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (538 vs. 169). Meanwhile, Montpelier (ranked 667th) will meet Tinora (ranked 38th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
