Basketball Game Preview: Spring Woods Tigers vs. Austin Mustangs

Having just played yesterday, the Spring Woods Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Austin Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Spring Woods has five straight wins, Austin has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Thursday, Spring Woods made easy work of Westbury and carried off a 68-48 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 33-33 at halftime, Austin was not quite Sterling's equal in the second half on Saturday. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders.

Spring Woods' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.5 points. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Everything came up roses for Spring Woods against Austin when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured an 85-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring Woods since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
