Basketball Game Preview: Paxton Bobcats vs. L.E.A.D. Academy Lions

The Paxton Bobcats just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the L.E.A.D. Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Paxton is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

On Friday, Paxton strolled past West Florida Baptist Academy with points to spare, taking the game 52-37.

Paxton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cade Stewart out in front who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Stewart is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Wade Borgesen was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, L.E.A.D. Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 59-49 to West Florida Baptist Academy.

Paxton will have to contain Patrick Branchcomb as he made an impact in L.E.A.D. Academy's last game. He almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Melvin, who posted ten points.

L.E.A.D. Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Paxton, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Paxton strolled past L.E.A.D. Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 48-30. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
