Basketball Game Preview: Cardinal O'Hara Hawks vs. Canisius Crusaders

Cardinal O'Hara is 0-10 against Canisius since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Cardinal O'Hara Hawks will head out to take on the Canisius Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. Cardinal O'Hara is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Cardinal O'Hara took a blow against St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, falling 94-53.

Despite their defeat, Cardinal O'Hara saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mickel Ivey, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. With that strong performance, Ivey is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Chaney, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Canisius put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 71-60 victory over McQuaid Jesuit.

Canisius pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cardinal O'Hara, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Cardinal O'Hara was dealt a bruising 80-39 defeat at the hands of Canisius in their previous meeting back in February. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cardinal O'Hara was down 48-26.
