Basketball Recap: Centennial Coyotes vs. Apollo Hawks
It was a good run, but the Centennial Coyotes unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Apollo by a score of 73-71. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Apollo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Acevedo led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isaiah White, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Apollo, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Apollo also has no future games currently scheduled.
