Recap: Deep Run Wildcats vs. Hermitage Panthers
The Deep Run Wildcats waltzed into their game Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They secured a 52-46 W over Hermitage. Deep Run's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Hermitage lost, one person who can't be blamed is Breyona Robinson. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points. Robinson scored a full 41.3% of Hermitage's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tori Woodley, who scored eight points.
Deep Run's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Hermitage, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Deep Run will be home for the holidays to greet Godwin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Godwin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday. As for Hermitage, they will head out on the road to face off against Glen Allen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
