Basketball Recap: Annie Onufrak's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Weldon Valley over Caliche

Weldon Valley lost against Caliche back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Weldon Valley Warriors took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Caliche Buffaloes.

Weldon Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Annie Onufrak, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Onufrak is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Koch, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Weldon Valley dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Caliche, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Weldon Valley will face off against Kit Carson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Caliche, they will head out on the road to square off against Front Range Baptist at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Caliche is facing Front Range Baptist at the right time seeing as Front Range Baptist is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
