Soccer Recap: Woodward Academy Comes Up Short

Woodward Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Pace Academy Knights, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Woodward Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Pace Academy are ranked 68th).

Woodward Academy was without their leading scorer, Lola Manuel, in Thursday's match. With Manuel sidelined, Maddie Baumgard got her first action of the season.

Woodward Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Pace Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Woodward Academy will host Arabia Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pace Academy, they will head out to face off against Lovett at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lovett will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Pace Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
