Basketball Recap: Creekside Christian Academy Picks Up 11th Consecutive Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Creekside Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Pinecrest Academy Paladins 71-48. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

Joe Frain and Michael Lynch certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Frain dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds, while Lynch went 6-for-9 en route to 14 points and seven boards. Frain is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last six games he's played.

The victory (which was Creekside Christian Academy's 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.5 points. As for Pinecrest Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Creekside Christian Academy will square off against Lanier Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lanier Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 matchups -- so hopefully Creekside Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Pinecrest Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
