Football Recap: Johnston City Indians vs. Maroa-Forsyth Trojans

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Johnston City can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 41-6 loss at the hands of the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.

Maroa-Forsyth got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryne Sheppard out in front who rushed for 42 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 183 yards and one touchdown while completing 78.6% of his passes. The Trojans' leading receiver Zach Smith was Sheppard's top target yet again, picking up 135 receiving yards and one score.

Having lost for the first time this season, Johnston City fell to 10-1. As for Maroa-Forsyth, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Johnston City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they will challenge Flora at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
