Softball Game Preview: Fort Knox Eagles vs. Central Hardin Bruins

Fort Knox is 0-10 against Central Hardin since April of 2016 but things could change on Friday. Fort Knox will face off against Central Hardin at 6:00 p.m. Fort Knox has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fort Knox is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They fell 13-10 to Thomas Nelson. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Hannah Steele led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nala Stevens, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Steele wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fort Knox kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Central Hardin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marion County.

Fort Knox's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Central Hardin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Fort Knox suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Central Hardin when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Fort Knox avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
