A well-balanced attack led the Cardinal Newman Crusaders over the Atlantic Christian Sharks in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Cardinal Newman walked away with a 46-35 victory over the Sharks. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cardinal Newman.
Cardinal Newman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alysha Fenelus led the charge by scoring 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fenelus has scored at least a third of Cardinal Newman's points. Grace George was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Cardinal Newman's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Atlantic Christian, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.
Cardinal Newman won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Lake Worth is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Atlantic Christian, they will square off against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
