Volleyball Recap: Window Rock Fighting Scouts vs. Monument Valley Mustangs
Monument Valley typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Window Rock proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Monument Valley Mustangs by a score of 3-1. For the Fighting Scouts, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October.
Window Rock had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23.
Devae Willie paced Window Rock's offense, picking up 15 kills. Willie got some help from
Catelin James and her 19 assists. Willie was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Window Rock's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 24-12-1. As for Monument Valley, they moved to 29-9 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.
