Recap: Falls Lake Firebirds vs. Washington County Panthers        
        
		
            
 Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Falls Lake Firebirds walked away with it. They took down the Panthers 75-57  on Friday. Falls Lake's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
  Emerson Thompson was  her usual excellent self,  dropping  a triple-double on 50 points, 18  rebounds,  and ten  blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  she has scored all season.  Destiny Williams was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on 12 points and 14  rebounds.
 Washington County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Ke'Myia Young, who  scored 27 points along with six  rebounds. Young is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's  now  scored 15 or more in the last four games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Chrishaya Gilliam, who  scored 12 points along with four  steals.
 The  win was  the tenth in a row for Falls Lake, bringing their record for this year to 29-2. Those victories were due in large part to their  offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Washington County, their loss was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 11-10.
 Falls Lake will stay at home for another  game and welcome Chatham Central at 6:00  p.m.  on March 5th. Hopefully Falls Lake focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 17 on Friday. Washington County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
