Softball Recap: Wade Hampton's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Wade Hampton's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Mauldin Mavericks. That's more bragging rights for the Generals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kellyn Kingston made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. Kingston was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Sanaii Rivers was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Breleigh Betsill, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Wade Hampton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6. As for Mauldin, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Wade Hampton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-1 loss against James F. Byrnes on the 4th. As for Mauldin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-1 defeat against Woodmont on the 4th.
