Football Recap: Granger Lancers vs. Orem Tigers
Granger had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 42-12 loss at the hands of the Orem Tigers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Tigers are ranked third).

Granger lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sunia Fifita, who rushed for 105 yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season. Bobo Kofe was another key player, rushing for 69 yards and one score on only eight carries.
Orem's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oliver Bills, who picked up 49 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 34 yards. That's the most rushing yards Bills has posted since back in August of 2024.
Granger wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 54-19 victory against Logan on the 22nd. As for Orem, they have also already played their next contest, a 34-21 defeat against Lone Peak on the 22nd.
