Football Recap: Granger Falls to Orem in First Game of Season

Granger kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 42-12 loss at the hands of the Orem Tigers. The Lancers were down 35-6 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sunia Fifita, who rushed for 105 yards and one score. Fifita's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobo Kofe, who rushed for 69 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orem to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oliver Bills, who picked up 49 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 34 yards. That's the most rushing yards Bills has posted since back in August of 2024.

Granger has already played their next contest, a 54-19 victory against Logan on the 22nd. As for Orem, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 34-21 loss against Lone Peak on the 22nd.
