Basketball Recap: Crestline Starts Season with Victory at Home

Crestline gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Northmor Golden Knights 51-49. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Bulldogs were down 30-15 in the second quarter.

Northmor's loss came despite strong showings from Brendan Barber and Trevor Black. Barber went 6-for-13 en route to 18 points, while Black almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Barber is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Northmor's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Crestline is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge South Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northmor, they will challenge Northridge at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
