Recap: Havelock Rams vs. J.H. Rose Rampants
The Havelock Rams put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 35-7 victory over J.H. Rose at home. The result was nothing new for Havelock, who have now won five games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Havelock was led to victory by Lebron Sharpe and Jonathan Williams. Sharpe rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while Williams rushed for 224 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Williams' longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding J.H. Rose to a paltry 182 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Havelock's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Jeshua Perry and Christopher Bispham who racked up four sacks between them.
Havelock's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. As for J.H. Rose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Havelock will be playing at home against Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dixon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Havelock is ranked 28th). As for J.H. Rose, they will head out on the road to face off against White Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. White Oak has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 263 points over their last six games.
