The Upper Scioto Valley Rams will head out on the road to face off against the McComb Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Upper Scioto Valley will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Upper Scioto Valley stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 52-20 win over North Baltimore. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Upper Scioto Valley had established a 30 point advantage.
Upper Scioto Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alex Sanders, who rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Sanders is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Underwood, who rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Meanwhile, McComb unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They suffered a rough 44-22 defeat at the hands of Liberty-Benton. McComb was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.
Upper Scioto Valley's win was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.7 points per game. As for McComb, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Upper Scioto Valley took a serious blow against McComb in their previous meeting back in October of 2020, falling 41-0. Can Upper Scioto Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
