Basketball Game Preview: Mount View Golden Knights vs. River View Raiders

Mount View is 0-10 against River View since November of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Mount View Golden Knights will square off against the River View Raiders at 7:00 p.m.

Mount View is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Mountain Mission and fell 83-31. The Golden Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-25.

Meanwhile, River View had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took down the Renegades 62-45.

River View's win came from a few key players Mount View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kaylee Blankenship, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaci Hatfield, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 15 points and five steals.

River View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 17 consecutive matchups.

River View has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Mount View, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Mount View was dealt a bruising 63-27 defeat at the hands of River View in their previous meeting last Wednesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of River View's Chasity Kennedy, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards.
