Volleyball Recap: Tokay Gets the Win

Tokay proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bear Creek Bruins. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Tokay wouldn't go down easily and took Bear Creek into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-10, 20-25, 16-25, 16-14.

Alyssa Wilson paced Tokay's offense, picking up 16 kills. Wilson got some help from Kalleigh Lepard and her 18 assists. Wilson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Tokay now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Bear Creek, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Tokay wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Chowchilla on the 5th. As for Bear Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Monterey Trail on the 6th.
