Softball Recap: Cedar Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Cedar proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the American Fork Cavemen 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Reds have posted since March 11th.

Sadie Parson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mya Bishoff was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

The win (which was Cedar's fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for American Fork, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar will square off against Enterprise at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for American Fork, they will take on Skyridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
