Football Recap: Perry Takes a Loss

Perry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Carroll Tigers 63-7. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Tigers are ranked 59th).

Despite the loss, Perry still got an impressive performance from Phillip Gray, who rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown.incredibly, Gray got all that yardage with just one huge run

Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Carroll, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will host Creston at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejays will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Carroll, they will challenge Atlantic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
