Manvel has gone a perfect 5-0 against South Houston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mavericks will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Manvel will be strutting in after a victory while South Houston will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Manvel beat Pearland 3-1.

Manvel had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.

Meanwhile, South Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They came up short against Alvin, falling 3-0.

South Houston took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 25-23.

Manvel's win bumped their record up to 25-10. As for South Houston, their loss dropped their record down to 6-32.

Manvel took their victory against South Houston when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
