Southwest Guilford came out on top against Ragsdale on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Cowboys put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 14-1 victory. Caroline Christman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Amelia Stewart was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Makayla Stefanik was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
