Phoenix waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Etna Lions 14-4. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Destiny Christlieb made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Christlieb was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carsyn Sousa, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Isla Ulrich, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Phoenix was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .414 or higher in three consecutive games.

Phoenix pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Etna, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Phoenix beat the Lions by a score of 12-2 later that day.
