Football Game Preview: St. Edward Green Wave vs. Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes

The St. Edward Green Wave will head out to face off against the Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Edward is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

St. Edward's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Chicago Hope Academy on Friday. They were beaten by Chicago Hope Academy 64-0. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while Chicago Hope Academy are ranked 104th).

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Marian Central Catholic, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 27-0 win over Christ the King. The Hurricanes haven't had any issues with the Gladiators recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

St. Edward's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Marian Central Catholic, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.

St. Edward was dealt a bruising 69-15 defeat at the hands of Marian Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Green Wave were down 63-8.
