Softball Game Preview: Cascade Bruins vs. Lake Stevens Vikings

Cascade is 0-10 against Lake Stevens since March of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Bruins will host the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Cascade has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cascade and Mountlake Terrace meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Bruins lost 12-3 to the Hawks.

Cascade saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Walker, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was Walker's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Lake Stevens came into Saturday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Roosevelt by a score of 5-2 on Saturday.

Lake Stevens let Emerson Cummins and Reese Breckenridge run wild. Cummins went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double, while Breckenridge went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most hits Breckenridge has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Peyton Bradley, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lake Stevens kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roosevelt only managed six.

Cascade's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Lake Stevens, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
