Baseball Recap: Marian Catholic's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Marian Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Oakland on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jazarris Mackmore was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Trotter, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marian Catholic fell to 3-1. As for Oakland, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8-1.

Looking ahead, Marian Catholic will challenge Thompson at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thompson's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Marian Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oakland, they will host Oxford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
