Softball Game Preview: Freedom Area Bulldogs vs. Aliquippa Quips

For the second straight game, Freedom Area will face off against Aliquippa. The Bulldogs will square off against the Quips at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Freedom Area has lost eight straight at home (dating back to last season), while Aliquippa has lost nine on the road (also dating back to last season).

Freedom Area is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Aliquippa 29-11 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Quips: they've now won six in a row.

Mackenzie Mohrbacher and Haydan Baucan did most of the damage at the plate: Mohrbacher got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs, while Baucan went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave Baucan a new career-high in doubles (two). Juliana Giovengo was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Freedom Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Aliquippa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Freedom Area, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.
