Baseball Recap: Quaboag Regional Cougars vs. Auburn Rockets

Quaboag Regional had lost 15 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-13 to make it 16. They came up short against the Auburn Rockets, falling 23-3. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 18-3 to the Rockets when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Auburn, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-1. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Auburn's part, Connor Gardell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gardell has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
