Basketball Game Preview: Delavan Panthers vs. ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Delavan Panthers take on the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday... Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Delavan ended up a good deal behind Elmwood and lost 51-36. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Bryson Horning, who went 6 of 12 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Pagel, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, ROWVA/Williamsfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 76-27 loss at the hands of Peoria Christian. Having soared to a lofty 55 points in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Delavan's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Everything went Delavan's way against ROWVA/Williamsfield when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Delavan made off with a 52-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Delavan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
