Softball Game Preview: McNeil Mavericks vs. Manor Mustangs

The McNeil Mavericks will head out on the road to take on the Manor Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for McNeil and 15 for Manor.

McNeil managed to slip by Round Rock Westwood the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mavericks might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-0 to the Warriors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

McNeil saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydne Jackson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Manor lost 16-1 to Round Rock on Tuesday.

McNeil's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Manor, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-20.

McNeil got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Manor by a conclusive 14-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
