Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marshall). They had just enough and edged out the Tyler Lions 42-40. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Marshall's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-6. As for Tyler, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Marshall wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-1 defeat against Hallsville on the 15th. As for Tyler, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Tyler Lions face off against Whitehouse Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
