Baseball Recap: Pittsburg Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

While Pittsburg put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Bethel. The Pittsburg Pirates put the hurt on the Bethel Jaguars with a sharp 11-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Pirates, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Desmond Toomer tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Devin Simonton was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of J'Marion Bella, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Pittsburg's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Pittsburg has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Miramonte on the 27th. As for Bethel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-2 victory against Mt. Diablo on the 25th.
