Volleyball Recap: Notre Dame Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

Notre Dame Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Pioneer Charter School of Science, falling 3-0. Notre Dame Cristo Rey was not able to make up for their defeat to Pioneer Charter School of Science from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Notre Dame Cristo Rey was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Pioneer Charter School of Science's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-2, 25-10, 25-11.

Sabrina Bocaneli was a one-woman wrecking crew For Pioneer Charter School of Science. as she had 15 aces. Those 15 aces gave Bocaneli a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Souza, who had five aces.

Notre Dame Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Pioneer Charter School of Science, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame Cristo Rey will be playing in front of their home fans against Nashoba Valley Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pioneer Charter School of Science, they will head out on the road to take on Excel Academy Charter at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
