Flag Football Game Preview: Northfield Nighthawks vs. Denver South Ravens

Northfield is 0-3 against Denver South since October of 2024 but things could change on Saturday. The Nighthawks will face off against the Ravens at 12:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Northfield will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up six points on Thursday, then bounced right back against Lincoln on Saturday. The Nighthawks breezed past the Lancers to the tune of 38-6. Considering the Nighthawks' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Northfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caroline Cummings and Julianne Heilner. Cummings got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Denver South faced Northfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Ravens simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Nighthawks 39-6. With the Ravens ahead 33-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Denver South is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.1 points. As for Northfield, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Northfield was taken down by Denver South 39-6 when the teams last played on Thursday. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Nighthawks were down 33-0.
