Baseball Recap: Rodriguez Triumphs

Rodriguez played against Pioneer on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Rodriguez got a great performance from Nick Schikore as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sean O'Connell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Benjaman 'BJ' Smith was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The win got Rodriguez back to even at 3-3. As for Pioneer, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5.

Rodriguez has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against San Ramon Valley on the 15th. As for Pioneer, they will host Vanden at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
