Baseball Recap: South Beloit Comes Up Short

South Beloit suffered their closest loss since April 20, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Harvest Christian Academy Lions by a score of 9-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 last Tuesday.

South Beloit saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Richard Carlson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for South Beloit and nudges their season record down to 6-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Harvest Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Beloit will welcome Ashton-Franklin Center at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Sobos surely won't give up without a fight. As for Harvest Christian Academy, they will host Westminster Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
