Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Northwest Texans walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Midlothian on Friday and snuck past 40-37. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Leading Northwest to victory were Saheed Durodoye and Leddie Thompson. Durodoye rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while Thompson threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Durodoye really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run. Kobey Wall did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Northwest is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Midlothian, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
