Soccer Game Preview: Seneca vs. Travelers Rest

The Seneca Bobcats will square off against the Travelers Rest Devildogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Seneca's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Travelers Rest has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

It was a proper cat-fight when Seneca took on Franklin County on Tuesday. The Bobcats walked away with a 5-3 victory over the Lions. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Seneca's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 106th in South Carolina, while Franklin County are ranked 309th in Georgia).

Meanwhile, Travelers Rest came up short against Pickens on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

The Devildogs' goal came courtesy of Mia Woodard, which was the first she's scored this season.

Seneca is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five contests. As for Travelers Rest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
