Basketball Recap: Northwood Skates Past Lasalle with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montgomery, Northwood was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the LaSalle Tigers 58-12. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Northwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jahari Mccoy, who posted 17 points along with six assists and three steals. Mccoy has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadorian Brown, who scored nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Mccoy wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Northwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Northwood's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points per game. As for LaSalle, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Northwood is taking a road trip to face off against Lakeview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. LaSalle has already played their next contest (against Logansport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
